Norfolk Public Schools has recently highlighted a series of initiatives and events aimed at student development and inclusion, according to posts made on their official Twitter account.

On September 25, 2025, Norfolk Public Schools shared that “The Young Gents EELC Enrichment at Booker T. Washington HS gave students free haircuts, real talk on dress codes. Students left equipped with valuable insight on the importance of presenting themselves with confidence and professionalism”.

In another post from the same day, the school district invited the community to participate in an upcoming meeting: “Join Norfolk Public Schools’ SEAC for the first in-person meeting of the 2025–26 school year! Oct 2, 2025, 6:00 PM, Granby HS Library. Together we can empower students with disabilities to succeed.”

The following day, Norfolk Public Schools marked Disability Awareness Month with a message encouraging advocacy and inclusion: “Did you know October is Disability Awareness Month? It is a month to honor people with disabilities and work toward a more inclusive world. Learn, share & advocate for inclusion. Together, we can build a world where every ability is valued.”

Norfolk Public Schools serves as one of Virginia’s largest public school divisions and regularly engages its community through enrichment programs and awareness campaigns designed to support student achievement and foster inclusivity.
