Norfolk Public Schools Superintendent Dr. Sharon I. Byrdsong is set to be honored for her 27 years of service with Norfolk Public Schools at the upcoming City Council meeting on June 24 at City Hall. Mayor Kenneth Cooper Alexander, Ph.D., along with the Norfolk City Council, will recognize Dr. Byrdsong’s dedication and contributions to the school system.

Dr. Byrdsong will receive a resolution acknowledging her achievements within NPS. Her career includes roles as Assistant Principal at Northside Middle School and Principal of Azalea Gardens Middle School, where she earned multiple awards and received recognition both statewide and nationally.

The public is encouraged to attend the formal Council session at 6 p.m. to celebrate Dr. Byrdsong’s impactful career in Norfolk’s public school system.
