Congresswoman Jen Kiggans, who has represented Virginia’s 2nd District in the U.S. Congress since 2023, addressed several policy priorities in a series of posts on July 11, 2025. Kiggans, who succeeded Elaine Luria and previously served in the Virginia Senate from 2020 to 2022, highlighted her focus on military readiness, legislative achievements for her constituents, and foreign policy.

On July 11, 2025, Kiggans emphasized the importance of maintaining military capabilities at a key East Coast installation. She stated: “We must ensure that the East Coast Master Jet Base supports fifth-generation strike fighters!”

Later that day, she reaffirmed her commitment to supporting legislation aimed at improving the wellbeing of residents in her district. In reference to recent legislative efforts, she wrote: “As the representative for Virginia’s Second District, I am committed to supporting legislation that improves the wellbeing of my constituents. If the One Big Beautiful Bill had not passed—this would have been the consequence:” (posted on July 11, 2025).

In a subsequent post on July 11, 2025, Kiggans endorsed proposed sanctions targeting Russia’s government. She stated: “I fully support @SpeakerJohnson’s call for these secondary sanctions to limit the Putin regime’s access to weapons. The United States will not tolerate hostile actions against sovereign, peaceful countries.”

Jen Kiggans was born in Tampa, Florida in 1971 and currently resides in Virginia Beach. She earned a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Old Dominion University in 2011.
