Congresswoman Jen Kiggans, who represents Virginia’s 2nd district in the U.S. Congress, recently posted a series of statements on her social media account addressing international support for Iranian protesters, legislative action on healthcare, and appreciation for law enforcement.

On January 9, 2026, Kiggans expressed solidarity with demonstrators in Iran by stating, “I stand with these courageous Iranians and their fight for freedom!” (posted at 01:10 UTC).

Later that day, she addressed recent legislative developments regarding healthcare policy. In a post made at 14:50 UTC on January 9, Kiggans shared her perspective on congressional activity related to health insurance subsidies: “My statement on the latest ACA premium tax credit vote in the House”.

In another message posted at 16:24 UTC the same day, Kiggans marked Law Enforcement Appreciation Day by thanking police officers and sheriff’s deputies. She wrote: “Today is Law Enforcement Appreciation Day…. To our police officers and sheriff’s deputies in #VA02 and across America, THANK YOU for your courage, sacrifice, and commitment to keeping our communities safe! I am proud to stand with you today and always…!”

Kiggans has represented Virginia’s 2nd District since 2023 after replacing Elaine Luria. Before her tenure in Congress, she served in the Virginia Senate from 2020 to 2022. Born in Tampa, Florida in 1971 and currently residing in Virginia Beach, Kiggans earned a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Old Dominion University in 2011.
