Congresswoman Jen Kiggans, who represents Virginia’s 2nd district in the U.S. Congress, recently highlighted her legislative efforts on tax relief and defense support through a series of posts on her official social media account.

On April 7, 2026, Kiggans informed constituents about potential tax benefits for new car buyers: “If you bought a new, American-made car last year, you may be eligible for a $10,000 tax deduction on car loan interest through the Working Families Tax Cut. I was proud to vote for this historic legislation alongside my @HouseGOP colleagues to deliver real relief for hardworking” (April 7, 2026).

Later that day, she addressed her commitment to national defense as both a Navy veteran and representative: “As a Navy veteran and the representative for Virginia’s Second Congressional District, ensuring that the National Defense Authorization Act supports our servicemembers at home and abroad is incredibly important to me. I’m proud that the bipartisan For Country Caucus has endorsed” (April 7, 2026).

The following day, Kiggans reiterated her support for small businesses during tax season: “This tax season, the Working Families Tax Cut that I proudly voted for will deliver relief for small businesses across #VA02. By locking in the 20% small business deduction, @HouseGOP is supporting the men and women that create jobs and drive our local economies…!” (April 8, 2026).

Kiggans has served in Congress since replacing Elaine Luria in 2023 and previously held office in the Virginia Senate from 2020 to 2022. She was born in Tampa, Florida in 1971 and currently resides in Virginia Beach. Kiggans earned her BSN from Old Dominion University in 2011.
