Congresswoman Jen Kiggans, who represents Virginia’s 2nd district in the U.S. Congress, has recently highlighted several legislative and local initiatives through her social media posts.
On July 24, 2025, Kiggans expressed optimism about a new initiative with a post stating, “The One Big Beautiful will deliver real results for real people in VA-02 and across our country!”
The following day, she addressed concerns regarding federal environmental regulations: “The National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) might have been instituted with good intentions, but today, it is delaying the construction of housing, infrastructure, energy, and businesses for communities that need them the most. Even more concerning are the delays NEPA is” (July 25, 2025).
Later on July 25, Kiggans announced funding for veteran healthcare facilities: “As a nurse practitioner, accessible & quality medical care is personally important to me. I’m proud to announce that @HouseVetAffairs has officially authorized over $79.6 million for the construction of a new Community-Based Outpatient Clinic (CBOC) in Hampton Roads for our”.
Kiggans has served as the congressional representative for Virginia’s 2nd District since 2023 after replacing Elaine Luria. She previously held office in the Virginia Senate from 2020 to 2022 and holds a nursing degree from Old Dominion University. Born in Tampa in 1971 and now residing in Virginia Beach at age 51, her professional background includes experience as a nurse practitioner.
