Congresswoman Jen Kiggans, who represents Virginia’s 2nd district in the U.S. Congress, has recently highlighted her legislative priorities on social media, focusing on support for small businesses, healthcare affordability, and prescription drug access.
On December 3, 2025, Kiggans shared insights from a recent event: “Yesterday’s Minority Small Business & Defense Contractors’ Summit was a great opportunity to hear directly from employers who keep our military and our nation strong. We discussed investments that grow our domestic manufacturing base and permanent tax relief that helps small”.
Continuing her advocacy for healthcare issues, Kiggans posted on December 4, 2025: “As a geriatric nurse practitioner and co-chair of the nursing caucus, affordable healthcare is an issue that I personally and professionally care about. That’s why I am proud to introduce this bipartisan ‘CommonGround 2025’ framework to extend the marketplace premium tax”.
Later that same day, she addressed challenges related to prescription medications: “As someone who has cared for patients throughout my career, I know how confusing, expensive, and frustrating prescription drug access can be. This week, I introduced two bills that will extend access to prescription medication for servicemembers, veterans, and seniors…!”
Kiggans has served as the representative for Virginia’s 2nd District since replacing Elaine Luria in 2023. Prior to her tenure in Congress beginning in 2023 after serving in the Virginia Senate from 2020 to 2022. She brings experience as a geriatric nurse practitioner—having earned her BSN from Old Dominion University in 2011—and resides in Virginia Beach.
