Congresswoman Jen Kiggans, who represents Virginia’s 2nd district in the U.S. Congress, recently shared a series of updates on her legislative priorities and actions via her social media account.

On November 13, 2025, Kiggans highlighted her efforts to maintain affordable healthcare access: “Now that the government is open, I am working with my colleagues on both sides of the aisle to address the impending sunset of COVID-era ACA subsidies. I introduced my Premium Tax Credit extension Act before the shutdown because I know how important affordable healthcare is,” she wrote.

Continuing her focus on healthcare and veterans’ issues, Kiggans posted on November 14, 2025: “When it comes to delivering quality care to our veterans—accessibility and consistency is crucial. I’m proud to co-sponsor @RepMackenzie’s Improving Veteran Access to Care Act which will streamline the scheduling apparatus at the VA and deliver a more user-friendly and effective”.

Later that same day, she emphasized her ongoing work for military families and veterans: “As a member of the House Veterans Affairs Committee and Military Quality of Life Taskforce, I have been working on behalf of our military members and their families as well as veterans. That’s why I was so proud to vote for a spending package that includes investments in military”.

Kiggans has served in Congress since 2023 after replacing Elaine Luria. Before joining Congress, she served in the Virginia Senate from 2020 to 2022. Born in Tampa, Florida in 1971, Kiggans currently resides in Virginia Beach. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Old Dominion University.
