Congresswoman Jen Kiggans, who represents Virginia’s 2nd district in the U.S. Congress, recently highlighted her engagement with local farmers and legislative efforts through a series of posts on social media.
On August 11, 2025, Kiggans expressed appreciation for Virginia agricultural organizations and emphasized the importance of food security. She wrote, “It was a great honor to be with Virginia farmers last week …! Thank you again to @VirginiaGrains & @VaFarmBureau for hosting! Food security is national security…!”
Later that day, she discussed her support for recognizing World War II nurses. In a post dated August 11, 2025, Kiggans stated, “I was proud to cosponsor the WWII Nurses Congressional Gold Medal Act with my colleague, @RepStefanik…! Our WWII nurses served with courage, compassion, and unwavering dedication—saving countless lives and serving in uniform when our country needed them the most.”
On August 12, 2025, Kiggans encouraged constituents to stay informed about her work both in Washington and at home. She posted, “Whether I’m at home in #VA02 or up in Washington, the best way to stay connected is through my weekly newsletter…! Check out my most recent weekly debrief!! “
Kiggans has represented Virginia’s 2nd district since replacing Elaine Luria in 2023. Before joining Congress, she served in the Virginia Senate from 2020 to 2022. Born in Tampa, Florida in 1971 and currently residing in Virginia Beach, Kiggans holds a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Old Dominion University.
