Congresswoman Jen Kiggans, who represents Virginia’s 2nd district in the U.S. Congress, recently shared a series of posts on her official social media account addressing military families, tax relief for tipped workers, and support for veteran-owned businesses.
On April 5, 2026, Kiggans marked Gold Star Spouses Day by stating: “On Gold Star Spouses Day, we honor the husbands and wives who have lost a loved one in service to our nation. As a Navy spouse and Navy Mom, I carry deep gratitude for these families and the sacrifice they have made for our great nation. We will never forget…. https://t.co/rIOQbhgPCW”
The following day, April 6, she highlighted legislative action supporting tipped workers: “By voting for the Working Families Tax Cut, my @HouseGOP colleagues and I secured meaningful relief for the men and women in tipped professions across #VA02. This tax season, eligible workers can receive no taxes on up to $25,000 in tips, helping you keep more of your hard earned https://t.co/fJRDwCyKxN”
Later that same day, Kiggans discussed her visit to MATBOCK: “Last week I had the pleasure of visiting MATBOCK, a veteran-owned company leading the way in innovative tactical gear right here in Virginia’s Second District. The men and women that serve our country in uniform deserve the very best, and @MATBOCK_Origins is committed to https://t.co/TOTXsIg67V”
Kiggans has represented Virginia’s 2nd district since 2023 after succeeding Elaine Luria. She previously served in the Virginia Senate from 2020 to 2022. Born in Tampa, Florida in 1971 and currently residing in Virginia Beach at age 51, Kiggans graduated from Old Dominion University with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) in 2011.
