Congresswoman Jen Kiggans, who represents Virginia’s 2nd district in the U.S. Congress, has recently posted a series of updates on social media addressing local developments, congressional ethics, and constituent services.
On August 19, 2025, Kiggans commented on state-level progress, writing “This is promising news from @GovernorVA and a testament to what commonsense solutions can bring to our beautiful Commonwealth…! I’ll keep working to ensure that Virginia and #VA02 remain the best place to work, live, and raise a family…!”
The following day, she addressed concerns over congressional ethics with a post stating “When it comes to owning and trading stocks, Members of Congress should not be allowed to participate in insider stock trading. The ETHICS Act will ensure no Member of Congress can use their power and position for personal gain. Read my press release https://t.co/7N4Fsdiz7y https://t.co/XHflwGyTRC” on August 20, 2025.
Later that same day, Kiggans thanked her constituents for participating in recent outreach efforts: “Thank you to everyone who stopped by our Mobile Office Hours in Chesapeake..!! Whether you had questions about a VA claim, needed help with a passport, or just wanted to share your thoughts—my team was glad to connect with you. Stay tuned for details on other future Mobile Office” (August 20).
Kiggans began serving in the U.S. House of Representatives for Virginia’s 2nd District after succeeding Elaine Luria in 2023. Prior to her current role in Congress, she served as a member of the Virginia Senate from 2020 until 2022. Born in Tampa, Florida in 1971 and now residing in Virginia Beach at age 51, Kiggans earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Old Dominion University in 2011.
