Ingleside Road railroad crossing in Norfolk scheduled for four-day closure

Norfolk Southern will close the railroad crossing at Ingleside Road beginning Monday, August 4 at 8 a.m. The closure is expected to last up to four days.

A detour has been established for drivers heading north and south on Ingleside Road. Northbound traffic should turn right onto Cape Henry Avenue, left onto Rush Street, then left onto Tait Terrace before arriving back on Ingleside Road. Southbound traffic should turn left at Tait Terrace, right onto Rush Street, and then right onto Cape Henry Avenue before returning to Ingleside Road.

Motorists can also use Chesapeake Boulevard and Princess Anne Road as alternate routes to reach Sewells Point Road or Azalea Garden Road during the closure period.
