Congresswoman Jen Kiggans, who represents Virginia’s 2nd district in the U.S. Congress, recently used her social media platform to highlight legislative efforts supporting small businesses, honor local educators during Teacher Appreciation Week, and celebrate infrastructure developments in Accomack County.

On May 4, 2026, Kiggans posted about a recent tax relief measure for small businesses: “Small Businesses create jobs and drive our economy here in #VA02. That’s why my @HouseGOP colleagues and I passed the Working Families Tax Cut to deliver tax relief for our communities. By making the small business deduction permanent, restoring full immediate expensing, and”.

Later that day, she acknowledged educators’ contributions with a post marking Teacher Appreciation Week: “As we celebrate “Teacher Appreciation Week”, we thank the incredible educators we have across #VA02! This week, and every week, I am grateful for our teachers across the nation for educating the future of our country…!” (May 4, 2026).

On May 5, 2026, Kiggans shared news of her participation in a groundbreaking ceremony at Accomack County Airport: “I was proud to join state and local partners for a new Accomack County Airport hangar groundbreaking! This important investment will increase connectivity with the Eastern Shore and promote Virginia’s general aviation programs! Thank you to @Virginia_Space for overseeing this”.

Kiggans has served as the U.S. Representative for Virginia’s 2nd District since replacing Elaine Luria in 2023. She previously held office in the Virginia Senate from 2020 to 2022. Born in Tampa, Florida in 1971 and currently residing in Virginia Beach, Kiggans holds a BSN from Old Dominion University.
