Congresswoman Jen Kiggans, representing Virginia’s 2nd district, has been actively engaging with her constituents and local organizations. Her recent social media posts highlight various activities she has undertaken in her district.
On June 19, Kiggans expressed gratitude to those who attended her Mobile Office Hours in Suffolk, VA. She noted the diverse range of issues discussed during the event, stating: “Thank you to everyone who stopped by our Mobile Office Hours in Suffolk, VA..!! Whether you had questions about a VA claim, needed help with a passport, or just wanted to share your thoughts—my team was glad to connect with you.” She also encouraged people to stay informed about future events.
The following day, June 20, Kiggans shared insights from her visit to the Virginia Beach Psychiatric Center. Emphasizing the importance of mental health services, she remarked: “Yesterday, we visited the Virginia Beach Psychiatric Center to learn more about the critical mental health services they offer to our community. As a nurse practitioner, I appreciate those on the frontlines of behavioral health and will continue to work with our providers.”
On June 21, Kiggans highlighted her visit to the Norfolk International Airport (ORF) tower and Air Traffic Control building. Acknowledging the crucial role of air traffic controllers in aviation safety, she stated: “Yesterday, I had the opportunity to visit the @FlyORF tower and Air Traffic Control building! Our controllers are instrumental in keeping our skies safe.” She expressed gratitude for their support of both military and civilian aviation.
Jen Kiggans is currently serving in Congress after replacing Elaine Luria in 2023. She has represented Virginia’s 2nd District since then and previously served in the Virginia Senate from 2020-2022. Born in Tampa, Florida in 1971 and residing in Virginia Beach now at age 51; she graduated from Old Dominion University with a BSN degree.
