Congresswoman Jen Kiggans, who has represented Virginia’s 2nd district in the U.S. Congress since 2023 after succeeding Elaine Luria, recently shared a series of updates on social media addressing constituent communication, international security, and defense priorities.
On July 15, 2025, Kiggans highlighted her ongoing efforts to keep constituents informed: “Whether I’m at home in #VA02 or up in Washington, the best way to stay connected is through my weekly newsletter..! Check out my most recent Weekly Debrief https://t.co/dALctUWNoI”.
Later that day, she expressed support for former President Donald Trump’s policy toward Ukraine and Russia. In her statement posted on July 15, 2025, she said: “I applaud President Trump’s decision to send Ukraine Patriot missiles to defend itself against Russian aggression and to sanction Russia if no peace deal is reached. The only way to communicate with a bully like Putin is through strength.”
In a subsequent post on July 15, 2025, Kiggans discussed her participation in the House Armed Services Committee (HASC) National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) markup session. She stated: “I’m here at the @HASCRepublicans NDAA markup to fight for NAS Oceana—our East Coast Master Jet Base— and the prioritization of mobile air superiority. Funding advanced and next-generation strike fighter aircraft, such as the F-35 and the F/A-XX, is critical to maintaining air”.
Jen Kiggans was born in Tampa, Florida in 1971 and currently resides in Virginia Beach. She earned her BSN from Old Dominion University in 2011 and previously served in the Virginia Senate from 2020 to 2022 before being elected to Congress.
