Congresswoman Jen Kiggans, representing Virginia’s 2nd district since 2023, recently shared a series of tweets outlining her legislative efforts and personal reflections. Known for her prior service in the Virginia Senate from 2020 to 2022, Kiggans is advocating for energy reform and expressing personal sentiments on social media.

On May 10, 2025, Kiggans announced her intention to reform clean energy tax credits. She stated that her new bill would aim to phase out subsidies for advanced renewables while preventing countries such as China and Russia from exploiting American tax benefits. Her goal is to move the United States closer to achieving energy independence. “It’s time for responsible clean energy tax credit reform.”

In another tweet posted on the same day, Kiggans emphasized the importance of energy security as a component of national security. She expressed gratitude towards fellow Representatives Garbarino, Valadao, Amodei, and Newhouse for collaborating with her on introducing the Certainty for Our Energy Future Act. “Energy security is national security.”

The following day, May 11, Kiggans shared a more personal message celebrating Mother’s Day. She reflected on motherhood as her favorite role among many jobs she has held throughout her life. She extended warm wishes to mothers in Virginia’s 2nd District and across the country. “I’ve had many jobs in my life but my all time favorite is being a Mom…”

Born in Tampa, Florida in 1971 and currently residing in Virginia Beach, Jen Kiggans holds a BSN from Old Dominion University.
