Chesapeake schools and city to conduct public safety drill August 14

Chesapeake Public Schools and the City of Chesapeake will hold a public safety drill at Deep Creek Middle School and Deep Creek High School on Thursday, August 14. The drill will take place for most of the day at 1955 Deal Dr and 2900 Margaret Booker Dr. Residents may see more emergency response vehicles and activity in the area during this time.

According to officials, this event is a planned exercise. It is intended to help first responders, as well as city and school staff, practice emergency response plans. “It is just a drill,” according to the announcement from Chesapeake Public Schools and the City of Chesapeake.
